Abstract
A description of the corrective method of the ‘signal-word’ used by copyists, who, either in the margin, or in or between the lines of manuscripts, not only replaced or rectified mistaken or omitted terms, but also repeated one or more of the preceding or succeeding words, to indicate the location of the lacuna or error.
