11 • Conclusion
Abstract
The last chapter offers some reflections on the Persian science of meanings (ʿilm-i maʿānī) in terms of its nature, relationship with the Arabic model, and significance as a literary theory. The conclusion provides an analytical discussion of the applicability of the theoretical framework and taxonomies provided by the Persian science of meanings to our understanding of classical Persian poetry while also highlighting their imitations.
