dc.description.abstract	The paper puts forward some critical notes on one provision out of the set of new rules amending the Italian Consolidated Banking Law (Testo unico delle leggi in materia bancaria e creditizia) regarding "Popular Banks". According to provision at issue, in case of withdrawal or exclusion of a shareholder (and, originally, also of death) the redemption of shares may be suspended, for reasons of financial stability of the bank, by virtue of an act issued by the Bank of Italy.

abstract

The paper puts forward some critical notes on one provision out of the set of new rules amending the Italian Consolidated Banking Law (Testo unico delle leggi in materia bancaria e creditizia) regarding "Popular Banks". According to provision at issue, in case of withdrawal or exclusion of a shareholder (and, originally, also of death) the redemption of shares may be suspended, for reasons of financial stability of the bank, by virtue of an act issued by the Bank of Italy.
