abstract

This comment is meant as a first reaction to the Talpis v. Italy judgment, rendered by the European Court of Human Rights on 2 March 2017, and an attempt to reflect on legal obligations States have in countering violence against women, in light of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, adopted in 2011 in Istanbul and entered into force in 2014.
