abstract

The current thinking on health systems requires further studies to address the digital revolution (e-health) and the regulatory aspects connected to this challenge. In particular, the role played by the rules (law, decree, resolution, etc.), during the planning and design of a ‘social web’, is analysed considering the differences with the past. This analysis leads to a change in the relationship between users and e-health. The ability of users to get information mainly from the Internet can be an opportunity and, at the same time, a critical issue. On the one hand, it can be an opportunity to have a fast and easy access to information and a better understanding of their health. On the other hand, the ease and speed of access to information can lead super ciality, disorientation and anxiety, questioning the role and con dence in the doctors or to the medical facility.
