Abstract
Il volume, che raccoglie gli atti del Colloquio italo-tedesco Il pontificato di Pio XI nella crisi europea: problemi storiografici, offre una panoramica degli ultimi studi su alcune questioni nodali con cui la Chiesa cattolica dovette confrontarsi nel periodo compreso tra le due guerre mondiali: l'ascesa di governi autoritari, l'espansione del controllo totalitario nella vita degli individui e delle società e la legalizzazione del razzismo e dell'antisemitismo.
