I due fratelli nimici: proposta di lettura della tragicommedia di Carlo Gozzi
Abstract
This is a study about «I due fratelli nimici», a tragicomedy published for the first time in Carlo Gozzi’s «Opere» (Venezia, Colombani, 1773). The analysis is focused on the dramatic strategies deployed by Carlo Gozzi in his «new version» of the «comedia famosa Hasta el fin nadie es dichoso», published in Agustín Moreto’s «Primera parte» (whose writing dates between the end of January 1653 and 1654, i.e., very close in time to «El desdén, con el desdén»). Comparative tables illustrate the similarities, but above all the differences be- tween the two plays.
