Traçant línies afectives
Moviment i (con-)tacte a Trama de Roser López i Torus de Humanhood
abstract
This chapter traces corporeal and sensorial correspondences in two group dance performances, Trama by Roser López Espinosa and Torus by Humanhood. My analysis is informed by new materialist theory, specifically, the work of physicist and feminist philosopher Karen Barad (2007) and her notion of ‘intra-action’, which accounts for the co-constitutive agency in the relationship between (non-)living matter. Sensitive to the socio-political context of 2010s Catalonia I suggest that the affective modes generated through movement and touch in these works share a concern with the exploration of the collective’s porosity and its fluid structures
