Abstract

This paper re-examines three Mycenaean ceramic fragments apparently discovered on the island of Torcello in the mid-twentieth century. Their typology and chronology are re-evaluated in the light of recent archaeological evidence and updated interpretations of Bronze Age settlement dynamics in the northern Venetian lagoon and its hinterland. Future archaeometric analyses aim to determine whether the fragments are genuine Mycenaean imports or Italo-Mycenaean products, and to contextualize them within wider exchange networks connecting the Aegean world with the northern Adriatic and the Po Valley during the Late Bronze Age.
