Interventi di conservazione dei dipinti murali di Cibiana di Cadore
Abstract
This contribution analyses the conservation interventions carried out over the last twenty years on the mural paintings of Cibiana di Cadore. Most of these were undertaken by non-professional volunteers trained in the mural decoration courses of the 1990s. Particular attention is devoted to the case of La vecia e l’Alviano by Walter Pregnolato (1982), subjected to a radical makeover. The study emphasizes that, in conditions of critical decay, it is essential to involve both the municipal administration and the local community, while promoting collaboration with other painted villages to define shared protocols and methodological guidelines.
