Chapter | Il Veneto e le Isole Ionie nelle opere di Ermanno Lunzi
Abstract
The relationships between Veneto and the Greek-speaking and cultural territories are long-standing; a huge amount of linguistic, artistic and cultural traces is evidence of it. The symbolic place of this relationship is the archipelago of the Ionian Islands, which has had relations with Venice since the Middle Ages and where flourished a multicultural context. The figure and the intellectual activity of Ermanno Lunzi (1806‑1868) is a proof of the link between Italian and Greek culture; his historic writings are precious sources for us to understand events, facts and characters who have taken place there.
