Abstract

This research aimed to map the presence of women in STEM degree programs offered by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and to examine female employment in the sector, with particular attention to chemistry-related career paths. Findings reveal that, with the exception of computer science programs, female enrollment in most STEM courses is close to achieving gender parity. Notably, in chemistry-related programs, gender balance among graduates has been consistently observed since the early 2000s. Female STEM graduates experience significantly lower employment rates in both academia and private sector. Data highlight a persistent gender pay gap.
