Abstract
This paper reviews the grave goods with writing instruments from Oderzo. For a better comprehension of these documents, a survey was conducted on a sample of Roman cemeteries of northern Italy. The aim of the research is not to outline the diffusion of literacy in this region but to consider the instrumentum scriptorium in the funerary contexts, in relation to the deceased and the social group to which they belonged.
