Abstract
De signis coeli and De ordine ac positione stellarum in signis are two star catalogues produced during the Carolingian renaissance; they represent a contribution of the Aratean tradition to the basic astronomical knowledge in the early middle ages. Some characteristics of these texts are discussed, with a special focus on common aspects and differences.
