Abstract

After providing an overview of the achievements of twentieth-century ecumenical dialogue, the article outlines a number of problematic issues currently on the agenda: the state of theological dialogues; ‘intercultural’ ecumenism; Christian ecumenism in the face of so-called global challenges (in particular, justice, peace, and the safeguarding of creation); and short- and medium-term prospects, as envisaged from the most recent developments.
