Abstract

This contribution details the discovery of a Bronze Age production site, uncovered during a public works project focused on the environmental redevelopment of a significant area overlooking the Venice lagoon in the municipality of Mira. The paper outlines the discovery’s progression, from the starting archaeological supervision to the subsequent in-depth stratigraphic excavations. It then describes the investigations carried out through ministerial funding and in collaboration with academic institutions, aimed at understanding and contextualizing the findings while the construction project was still in progress. Finally, it presents the current research efforts aimed at environmental reconstruction, clarifying (where possible) the productive aspects and identifying the potential associated habitation site.
