Abstract

This paper addresses the issue of territorial inequalities in education in Italy. The first part focuses on trends in inequalities with regard to school enrolment and dropout rates, using the main indicators employed at national and international level. It also refers to the link between educational outcomes and employment outcomes. In the second part of the paper, the analysis focuses on inequalities in access to educational services. In relation to this latter aspect, the concept of ‘educational poverty’ is also used and illustrated, observing its trends at the territorial level.
