crossmark logo

Abstract

The chapter analyses the transformation of migration corridors between Central Asia and Europe in the context of political and economic instability in the post-Soviet region and growing labour demand in key European economic sectors. Adopting an infrastructural approach to mobility, it examines five dimensions (technological, regulatory, commercial, humanitarian, and social) of emerging migration corridors between Central Asia and Europe. The chapter shows how global crises and geopolitical shifts are reshaping regional migration dynamics, and how the ongoing process of formalization of migration can both create new opportunities and generate dependencies and vulnerabilities.
