Daochos II of Thessaly’s Dedication to Delphi
Abstract
The inscription is on a votive offering commissioned in the 4th century BC by Daochos II, tetrarch of Thessaly and hieromnemon of the Delphic Amphictyony, to Apollo in his temple in Delphi in order to celebrate his own family. The monument was a stone base with nine statues: every statue but one (probably that of Apollo) is described by an inscription. It is probably a copy of an offering in Pharsalus signed by Lysippos.
