Chapter | Una aproximació a les poètiques de l’oralitat
Abstract
Poetics of orality take elements of oral literature, but this does not imply giving up writing. The recitals or performances are the main distribution channel as well as the point of contact between the author, the public and the work. These poetics move away from Hegel’s conception of poetry to engage with a more public poetry, whose expression is not restricted to the individual subject’s voice but rather rooted in the collectivity. With more than a dozen published titles, Josep Pedrals’ poetry is an excellent example of these poetics of orality and his work El furgatori is discussed from the perspective of ethnopoetics with the aim of tracing the presence of orality.
