Abstract
This paper investigates the principles of the construction of the dramatic image in Beckett’s works. The starting point is the analysis of the short prose L’image. Following the suggestions of an ecfrastic theory, it is possible to identify the performative elements involved in the construction of the vision with the writing process. The same elements are then studied in the theatrical practice particularly focusing upon: the fragmentation of the textual image; the fragmentation of the body and of the subject on stage; the dynamic process between movement and frozen image.
