Etica del limite e limiti dell’etica

Un percorso introduttivo alla filosofia di Stanley Cavell

Abstract

The ethical reflexion of Stanley Cavell finds its roots in a peculiar interpretation of Wittgenstein’s later philosophy, focusing especially on the epistemological discussions about skepticism and the nature of language. Through a reading of his major works, we will show how the american philosopher has proposed an ethical thought which originates from his studies about knowledge and, above all, about its limits: we will see how his work has not only recasted the debate about the skeptical position, but has also defined an alterative way to understand ethics, its reality and its history, proposing thus a paradigm whose popularity seems increasingly to grow.
