Abstract

This chapter, presented entirely in Italian Sign Language (LIS), examines LIS teaching with a focus on methodological approaches. Over the years, its teaching has spread across various educational contexts. The first part analyses LIS instruction in public universities and private associations, highlighting similarities and differences. The second part focuses on LIS teaching at universities, addressing key methodological aspects, such as the absence of a written form, the role of technology, and the need for training in comprehension, production, interaction, and mediation (CEFR, 2020).
