Votive Dedication in Memory of a Fishing Trip

Abstract
Dating back to the beginning of the fifth century, this epigraph provides an example of a private votive dedication at the hands of Autandros and Mys, two fishers working in the bay of Eleusis. They managed to catch a swordfish and dedicated an altar to the god of the sea, Poseidon, to thank him.
