Aims & Scope

The Studi ciprioti book series promotes the publication of innovative and interdisciplinary studies on Cyprus.

Across the millennia, Cyprus has combined a strong insular identity with vectors of exceptional connectivity. The island has always been a culturally multi-faceted geographic unit, but also a dynamic arena, where the imaginative and sometimes strategic invention of a Mediterranean koiné has constantly been negotiated by a variety of actors.

Aiming at providing a platform for insightful interpretations of the ‘Cyprus Phenomenon’, Studi ciprioti welcomes proposals for monographs and edited volumes to be written primarily in English or Italian, as well as in other strategic academic languages. Books in the series engage with the history and archaeology of Cyprus, its art and literature, languages and philology, religions and anthropology, from prehistory to modern times. By encouraging the study of Cyprus from any scientific perspective within the humanities, this dynamic new series fills a patent gap in the world of academic publishing and aspires to act as an innovative model for other regional studies.
