Chapter | Internazionalizzazione dell’internazionalità
Abstract
This work argues for the acknowledgement of the presence and peculiarities of ‘international’ students – particularly, Italy-educated minority language or ‘1.5 Generation’ students – in non-internationalised courses in Italian universities. The mixed integrative model of linguistic education policy applied at the University of Bergamo is presented and discussed in view of the data gathered through a survey on the sociolinguistic background and academic-related communicative needs of such students, alongside with a comparative survey of the results, in the ‘Academic Italian entry test’ at the University of Bergamo, of ‘native’ vs ‘foreign’ vs ‘Italy-educated immigrant’ students.
