L’Inferno di Topolino e altre storie disneyane ispirate al poema dantesco
Abstract
This paper focuses on Dantean echoes in the comic stories written by Guido Martina for Disney Italia. The study moves from Martina’s masterpiece, L’Inferno di Topolino (1949-1950), the first of the Grandi Parodie Disney, and will then analyse two less-known comic stories (Paolino Pocatesta e la bella Franceschina and Saga di Messer Papero e Ser Paperone), full of relevant allusions which prove Martina’s deep acquaintance with Dante’s works. The paper will also offer an historical contextualisation of each comic story.
