Abstract
Within the framework of the increased interest in antiquities on the island in the eighteenth century, a prominent role is certainly played by Antonio Mondaini, Giovanni Mariti and Domenico Sestini. Wider is the wealth of information gleaned from the work of Mariti on Cyprus, which in the years following his return to Italy became a constant point of reference for his work and life experience.
