Abstract

Shortly after the opening of the Sala Marconi at the Museum on 10 October 1956, the exhibition dedicated to the artefacts from the ship Elettra was documented by a curious photomontage that includes, in the centre, the plaster cast bust of Guglielmo Marconi. Commissioned by the Museum to a trusted plaster cast artist, Cesare Gariboldi, the work documents how the iconographic legacy developed after Marconi’s death leading to the commission of numerous works of art.
