Abstract

This essay, first and foremost, puts into context the relevance of Joan Fuster and Rafael-Lluís Ninyoles’ work during the 1960s. In addition, it distinguishes their different way of analysing society in general, and Valencian society in particular. On one hand, Joan Fuster approached reality through literary essays. Ninyoles, on the other hand, adopted a sociological perspective. Two different ways of observing the world that the author of this study considers as supplementary. Finally, the essay argues that the book Madre España, written by Rafael-Lluís Ninyoles, constitutes a complete treatise about Spanish nationalist thought morphology, which is nowadays as valid as it was decades ago.
