The authors of contributions address the issue of Northern Adriatic landscape, perceived as a palimpsest resulting from the interaction between man and the environment through time. Five case studies from different areas describe the methodology and techniques for deciphering the landscape and recognizing long-term occupation strategies and possible ties between the ancient landscape and nowadays.
