«Vagones llenos de silencio». Poemas & híbridos and the Poetry of Bernardo Atxaga
Cultural Hybridity, Identity and Discourse
Abstract
The present study focuses on the analysis of three central aspects in Poemas & híbridos and in the poetry of Bernardo Atxaga: the construction of identity, the elaboration of poetic discourse and the perspective of writing as a form of cultural hybridity. These three aspects are analysed in the light of the occidental cultural context throughout the 1970s and 1980s and the special situation of Basque literature at that time.
