Chapter | De Cicéron à Lucain. Note sur les modalités de l’expression de la volonté
Abstract
As for the philosophical idea of will in the Latin world, the line connecting Cicero to Seneca and then proceeding in the direction of Augustine is not as straightforward as it seems at first glance. We will try to nuance this type of route by recalling a series of writers usually not extensively discussed in this type of research. Above all Lucan. Uolo and uoluntas as well show a particular richness of use, which suggests a sort of linguistic experimentation.
