Abstract
Starting from the hypothesis that the wrecking of the Prestige in 2002 was the true destabilizing event of the sociopolitically hegemonic regime in Galicia, this chapter studies the impact of this incident on the development of the Galician political novel. The author focuses on three narrative texts that represent different literary approaches to envisioning another Galicia: 1) the transcendence of the totalizing risks inherent in fantastical-mythical utopias; 2) the exploration of the political potential within the crime novel; and 3) the transformation of the feminine precariat, depicted through female protagonists who evolve from ‘losers’ into unusual activists.
