Pyrriadas’ Epitaph
Abstract
Few fragments of the epigraph are now kept in the Epigraphical Museum of Athens, but its texts can be integrally reconstructed thanks to the published editions. The inscription, found in Thessaly, is an example of an inscribed text whose metrics is not easily recognizable. As a matter of fact, a metrical system ascribable to the known and settled schemes of the epigrammatic genre can only be partially identified.
