Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of archaeobotanical research in China, focusing on macro-botanical remains, especially seeds. It traces the origins of the discipline, the development of methodologies for recovering ancient plant remains, and its growing integration into Chinese archaeology. It also highlights how these advancements have led to the accumulation of extensive data, offering new insights into the evolution of farming practices.
