Arcumeggia, storia della conservazione della ‘Galleria all’aperto dell’affresco’
Abstract
The critical issues related to the conservation of outdoor works are much more evident in Arcumeggia, as the paintings created here were not executed using the traditional fresco technique and the use of high-quality materials, beyond the emphasis on fresco painting that from the beginning has characterized Arcumeggia’s pictorial experiences. The Province of Varese is responsible for the conservation of these works, which require ongoing attention. The design of 35 paintings was undertaken based on a survey of the state of conservation of all the works considered public art, but most of which are excluded under the protection of Italian State.
