Entre traduction et retraduction : les noms propres dans Je m’appelle Non de Liliane Atlan
Abstract
This article analyses the translation and retranslation of anthroponyms in Liliane Atlan's play Je m’appelle Non. Focusing on their syntactic structure, functions and meaning, it examines how interpretive choices, attention to the source text, and performative concerns shape their rendering in Italian. Through selected examples, it highlights tensions between semantic precision and theatrical effectiveness, and frames retranslation as a more cautios approach aimed at restoring coherence and textual balance.
